How to Access BRLA: Step-by-Step Guide for TRU Holders

As part of the transition to Brila, TRU holders will have the ability to access BRLA through the official access portal.

We recognize that not everyone in the community regularly uses self-custody wallets or interacts across multiple networks. To make this as smooth as possible, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide that walks through the full process, from withdrawing TRU from an exchange to completing the access flow through the portal.

This guide is designed to be practical and easy to follow, with a focus on minimizing common mistakes around network selection, wallet setup, and gas.

Before getting started, please take your time and read through the instructions carefully. If you are unfamiliar with self-custody, consider doing a small test transaction first and double-checking each step along the way.

As always, only use official links shared by the team, and never share your seed phrase or private keys with anyone.

The full guide is below.

How to Access BRLA Using Your TRU Tokens

This guide explains how to move your TRU tokens from a centralized exchange into a self-custody wallet, and then use those tokens in the Brila access portal.

Please read carefully before starting.

Important Warning

You are responsible for your wallet and transactions.

Brila, TrueFi, and contributors cannot recover tokens lost due to:

  • Incorrect addresses

  • Wrong network selection

  • Lost seed phrases

  • Phishing or scams

  • User error

Before doing anything:

  • Double-check everything

  • Do a small test transaction

  • Never share your seed phrase

  • Never enter your seed phrase into a website

If unsure, stop.

Before You Start (Very Important)

  • TRU must be on Ethereum

  • You should use Rabby Wallet

  • Use Rabby Gas Account (recommended) to simplify gas

What You Need

  1. TRU tokens (likely on an exchange)

  2. Rabby Wallet
    https://rabby.io

  3. Gas setup (choose ONE):

OPTION A (Recommended): Rabby Gas Account
OPTION B (Fallback): ETH + HYPE manually

  1. Official Brila Access Portal
    https://access.brila.finance/

Only use the official link.

Step 1: Set Up Rabby Wallet

Download:

https://rabby.io

Then:

  • Create a new wallet OR import existing

  • Write down your seed phrase

  • Store it offline

  • Never screenshot or store digitally

If you lose your seed phrase, you lose your funds.

Step 2: Copy Your Wallet Address

Your address looks like:

0x1234…abcd

You will use this to receive TRU.

Step 3: Withdraw TRU from Your Exchange

On your exchange:

  1. Go to your TRU balance

  2. Click Withdraw

  3. Paste your wallet address

  4. Select network: Ethereum

CRITICAL

TRU must be sent on Ethereum.

DO NOT use:

  • BNB Chain

  • Arbitrum

  • Base

  • Any other EVM compatible network

  • Any other non-EVM compatible network EVM

Before Confirming

Check:

  • Token = TRU

  • Address = correct

  • Network = Ethereum

  • Consider a small test first

After Withdrawal

  • Open Rabby

  • Check Ethereum network

  • Confirm TRU appears

If not:

Check on Etherscan:

https://etherscan.io

Paste your wallet address or transaction hash in the search bar

Step 4: Gas Setup (Recommended: Rabby Gas Account)

This is the easiest option.

What is Rabby Gas Account?

It lets you:

  • Fund one balance

  • Pay gas across networks automatically

  • Avoid managing ETH vs HYPE manually

How to Use It

  1. Open Rabby

  2. Go to “Gas Account”

  3. Click “Deposit” or “Top Up”

  4. Add funds (typically ETH or supported assets)

Once funded:

  • Rabby handles gas automatically

  • Works across supported networks

Important Notes

  • You must fund it BEFORE transacting

  • Keep enough balance for multiple transactions

  • If something fails, fallback to manual gas

Step 4B: Manual Gas Setup (Fallback Option)

If not using Gas Account:

You need BOTH:

ETH (Ethereum gas)

  • Required for Ethereum transactions

  • Add ETH to your wallet

HYPE (HyperEVM gas)

Key Point

ETH and HYPE are NOT interchangeable.

Step 5: Go to Brila Access Portal

Go to:

https://access.brila.finance/

Only use official link.

Step 6: Connect Your Wallet

  1. Click “Connect Wallet”

  2. Agree to Brila Access Portal Terms & Conditions

  3. Select Rabby

  4. Approve connection

If MetaMask appears, Rabby still works.

Step 7: Verify Everything Before Proceeding

Check:

  • Correct wallet connected

  • TRU balance detected

  • Gas setup ready

  • Correct network

Read everything carefully.

Step 8: Complete the Access Process

Typical flow:

  1. Connect wallet

  2. Confirm TRU balance

  3. View Total Claimable BRLA balance

  4. Select “Swap TRU for BRLA”

  5. Enter the amount of TRU you wish to Swap (E.g. 20000)

  6. Select a lock duration (up to 50% bonus based on duration selection)

  7. Select “Approve TRU”

  8. Confirm in Rabby

  9. Wait for confirmation

  10. Return to Access Portal UI

  11. Select “Swap TRU for BRLA” in the popup window

  12. Confirm in Rabby

  13. Wait for confirmation

  14. The TRU to BRLA popup window will have a “Transaction submitted! Your BRLA tokens will be available after the lock period.”

  15. The UI will update after a few minuted with your claimable BRLA balances

Step 9: Confirm Completion

After completion:

  • Look for confirmation message

  • Check transaction hash

  • Refresh wallet

If BRLA doesn’t show:

  • Switch networks

  • Refresh wallet

  • Add token manually if needed

Common Mistakes

Wrong network
TRU must be on Ethereum

Wrong address
Always double-check

No gas
Use Gas Account OR ETH + HYPE

Fake portal
Only use official link

Blind signing
Always read transactions

Sharing seed phrase
Never do this

Troubleshooting

TRU not showing:

  • Check Etherscan

  • Confirm correct network

  • Refresh wallet

Gas error:

  • Fund Rabby Gas Account
    OR

  • Add ETH (Ethereum)

  • Add HYPE (HyperEVM)

Portal not detecting balance:

  • Refresh page

  • Reconnect wallet

  • Check network

Funds missing:

  • Check transaction hash

Safety Checklist

Before final transaction:

  • Official portal?

  • Correct wallet?

  • TRU in wallet?

  • Gas available?

  • Transaction understood?

If unsure, stop.

Quick Summary (TLDR)

  1. Install Rabby
    https://rabby.io

  2. Withdraw TRU on Ethereum

  3. Fund Rabby Gas Account (recommended)

  4. Go to portal
    https://access.brila.finance/

  5. Connect wallet

  6. Complete process

When will the access open to claim your BRLA tokens and what value will they have ?

The tokens will be available to claim once the access window closes. We added a timer at the top of the access portal!

I saw the push for Rabby wallet, is it mandatory? I’m using ledger to secure my TRU, can I still use it?

also, what would be the future of TRU tokens? will it be rebranded to BRLA?

I followed these directions to the letter and only used the links provided in this posts. However when I accessed the portal and tried to connect my wallet the Rabby Wallet was not in the list of 100+ wallets it would allow you to connect. Can you look i to this? I wasted money setting up the gas account in the Rabby wallet because I had to load ETH directly into the wallet to connect using Meta Mask instead. Granted its only $2 in the gas account + the ETH gas fees of about $0.80 I waisted but its the principle of wasting the time and money using a wallet that is the recommended one.

Have you resolved the issue, I am having the same issue

No i did not. I just imported the wallet to my Meta Mask Wallets and used it thru there. Wasted the funds I loaded for gas fees but it worked.

Rabby wallet doenst seem to be able to connect to brila. Also i contacted my DEX and they have not received any Migration request. Maybe contact Bitvavo.

Please use Rabby on desktop. Others have informed us that this worked for them when mobile didn’t.

Thanks for the quick response.

I do have a few more questions,

1.Will BRLA be on binance?

  1. Is there any dex doing the migration?
  2. What will be the tradeoff for truefi for brla? (3/1?)
  3. Do any other wallets beside Rabby support brila?
  4. Is there an whitelist for brila?
  5. Does brila take over all operations from Truefi?
  6. Will you burn truefi coins as convertion to brila? And if so where can we follow this?

I probably have way more questions but il stop here for now ^^

I swapped TRU to BRLA using MetaMask, but the BRLA tokens are not showing in my wallet.

I would like to add the BRLA token manually in MetaMask, and I have a few questions:

  1. Where can I find the official BRLA token contract address?

  2. If I choose a lock-up period, will the BRLA tokens not be visible in MetaMask until the lock period ends?

The tokens will not yet show in your wallet as they are not there. Tokens will only be minted once the access window closes.

If you chose no lock-up, you will be able to claim them once the access window closes, on the same UI where you did the swap.

If you chose to lock-up your tokens, your tokens will be locked for the amount of time you chose starting when the same access window closes and tokens become available to those that chose no lock-up. After your lock-up window, you can do the same claim process.

I believe I completed my swap on the access portal and choose to lock but now the portal is saying that i have no locked positions found (or any positions) and am not sure if I did something wrong? It did previously show my tru balance properly and when I swapped my tru balance changed accordingly but nothing else has changed. Please help
