I lost $130,000 because I believed in this company

To the leadership of TrueFi,

I am writing this because I do not know what else to do.

I believed in your company. I believed in the project, the messaging, the future you presented, and the trust that was placed in your hands by people like me. Because of that belief, I invested…and lost $130,000 in TrueFi.

That was not disposable money to me. I am not a hedge fund. I am a police officer, a husband, and a father of two young children. My wife does not work, and my family depends on me. I worked countless hours of overtime to invest in your company because I believed in it and the people behind it. I trusted you would act responsibly toward the very community that supported it.

Now, after the migration to BRLA, US citizens were not allowed to swap. This has devastated me financially. I am now facing the possibility of having to sell my home. I do not know what my family is going to do.

I need you to understand the human impact of what has happened here. This is not just a chart. This is not just a token migration. This is not just a technical or regulatory issue. This is my life. Real people trusted you. Real families put their savings behind your project. And now I have no idea what I’m going to do

I am asking you directly: what are you going to do for the US holders and people like me who believed in you and lost everything. I’m hoping others weren’t as foolish as me, but I’m sure some are out there

There needs to be a solution. Please don’t ignore me. Leaving loyal investors with nothing while the project moves forward under a new structure is absolutely not acceptable.

I’m asking you now to show that the company, its owners, and its leadership still have some sense of integrity and responsibility to the people who helped give it value in the first place.

I am writing this as a desperate husband and father who feels completely scammed by a company he trusted. I need you to understand that this has had a devastating impact on my life and my family.

Please don’t ignore me. I need answers. I need a resolution.

Sincerely,

Matthew Schmidt
