[TFIP-27] Proposal to Update Signers on the TrueFi DAO Treasury Multisig

Summary

This proposal seeks to update the signers on the TrueFi DAO treasury multisig wallet. Specifically, it aims to remove two current signers and replace them with new, qualified individuals to enhance security, improve responsiveness, and reflect current contributor activity.

Motivation

The current composition of the TrueFi DAO multisig includes signers who are either no longer active in DAO operations or whose responsibilities have shifted. To maintain the integrity and efficiency of treasury management, it is necessary to update the signer list to ensure all signers are trusted, available, and aligned with the DAO’s ongoing objectives.

Proposed Changes

  • Remove the following signers:

    • [Stratego Holdings] - [0x623EeaAe05FB5A4Be01D45613928d4233da80Fd7]

    • [Nathan Vandy] - [0xE416dE13e7859Ba860de0DE3563dA1e4e97dbd97]

  • Add the following signers:

    • [Seb Davies] - [0x97F8De405D7e70c0F66c2308d9882A9227097d6f]

    • [Kevin Sparks] - [0xB2F3cE5e63b0c303C475667f8CB28a47b14b9d9b]

Rationale

The proposed additions are active contributors to the DAO and have demonstrated trustworthiness and availability. This change ensures a well-functioning multisig that meets operational needs, including timely transaction signing and governance execution.

Implementation

Upon successful approval of this proposal, the Gnosis Safe multisig wallet will be updated to reflect the new list of signers. This update will be coordinated by the current Safe owners using the standard multisig change process.

First, I think we should thank @StrategoHoldings and @vandynathan for their help until now as signers of the multi-sig.

What is the governance approval process for this change of the operational multi-sig? This doesn’t require a tally vote as it doesn’t require a TRU withdrawal or other function?

Would you instead use Snapshot?

I think the best though for making sure there is a consistent approach is to have a simply tally procedure of for example moving 1 TRU to the foundation to keep a transacted approval on tally.

Next Governance Steps

As the proposals does not fall under the simplified governance exemptions, the proposal will require the following steps:

  1. Forum Posting: A 72-hour posting period on the forum to allow the community to provide feedback (and has been completed).

  2. Snapshot Vote: A 48-hour Snapshot vote will be conducted with the options: “OK to vote on Tally,” “Not OK to vote on Tally,” and “Abstain.” At least 5% of staked TRU must participate in this Snapshot vote to meet the quorum.

  3. Amendment Period: If the 5% quorum is met, with a majority negative vote, a 72-hour period will follow to allow for any amendments or discussions before the proposal is posted to Tally.

  4. Tally Vote: Otherwise, the proposal will be posted to Tally for the final vote.

Note: The tally vote will be a simple Mint Tx of 1 TRU to the Timelock as to memorialise the execution of the proposal on Tally.

I see proposal is on snapshot!

Is it possible to see confirmation that these two people no longer want or do not participate in the signings?

And also I would like to understand who these two new people are and why them?

Hey cp0x,

Thank you for highlighting this. Myself and @sebdavies are very active across all of the social media platforms that TrueFi is on and involved in. Seb is a board member and I am actively working on the day to day operations/marketing activities.

Historically, you can go back and look at multisig signers onchain as well as chatter in the Telegram and see that the previous signers being readily available to sign has had a significant increase in lead time the past couple of weeks. This proposal is more or less a good housekeeping item. I’m not sure them confirming would do any more than the aforementioned. It can be done, but this will take significantly more time. As a consequence, it could potentially hold up operations further as we need to pay service providers, contractors, SaaS costs, etc.

I hope this addresses your concerns!

Regards,
Kelvin

To clarify - the Treasury Multisig - is the address that has the funds that have been allocated by DAO votes to the foundation - 0xC03151bAc97F692e5b71Eb49635A624141f7477b

?

Not to be confused with the canceller multisig for Tally?

Yes, we are talking about the Treasury Multisignature wallet. The canceler one is not subject of this proposal
